Little Steps, Big Community
Phoenix Friday Fun!
We were so thrilled to have been able to join Phoenix Friday to show school spirit! It was a wonderful opportunity for our little ones to feel connected to the broader school community and see older students lead and inspire their fellow classmates to build a sense of belonging that spans across divisions. A big shout-out to the high school student council for including early childhood.

Kindergarten Community Field Trip
Our Kindergarten students had a fantastic time heading out into the community for an exciting local field trip connected to their learning on goods and services! Students explored the neighborhood around our school, visiting local businesses and community spaces to discover firsthand how people provide and exchange what others need. From grocery stores to dental offices, our learners made real-world connections to the concepts they've been exploring in the classroom. This hands-on experience nurtured curiosity, built community awareness, and helped students understand how we all contribute to and rely on one another.
Parent Tip of the Week
This week we held a parent workshop focused on helping young children develop the confidence and language to speak up and stay safe. We explored how calm responses, encouragement, and clear family rules can support children in sharing their feelings and experiences with trusted adults.
During the session, parents practiced responding to everyday scenarios using simple, supportive language such as “Thank you for telling me,” which helps children feel safe and heard. We also discussed how short family rules (for example, “Ask first” and “No secrets from parents”) can help young children understand boundaries in a positive and reassuring way.
The slides from the workshop are attached for families who would like to review the ideas or continue the conversation at home. As always, please feel free to reach out if you would like additional resources or support.
Parent Connect
As the school year moves forward, we warmly invite all Kindergarten families to join us for an upcoming Parent Connect session dedicated to learning all about the exciting journey into first grade! This is a wonderful chance to ask questions, and gain a deeper understanding of what to expect academically, socially, and emotionally as your child takes their next big step. We know transitions can bring up many wonderings, and we want every family to feel informed, confident, and excited about the year ahead.
