VEX Robotics

Support from the Concordia Fund brought advanced VEX robotics equipment to our students, empowering them to sharpen engineering, problem-solving, and collaborative skills. This investment also enabled Concordia to host the first official VEX Robotics Competition for international schools in Shanghai in 2024, an event our own team proudly won. Through this enrichment, students expand their STEM horizons and our school strengthens its commitment to innovative, hands-on learning.

Third Culture Coffee (TCC) Social Entrepreneurship

Support from the Concordia Fund made it possible for students in the Third Culture Coffee (TCC) program to travel to Yiwu Township in Yunnan, where they met the farmers they partner with and saw their social enterprise work in action. This immersive experience deepened students’ understanding of sustainable farming, ethical supply chains, and community impact. By learning directly from local growers, students strengthened their entrepreneurial thinking and gained firsthand insight into how responsible business can empower communities and create lasting change.

Grade 8 Community Appreciation Project

In 2025, with support from the Concordia Fund, Grade 8 students participated in a meaningful appreciation initiative for the campus service employees who care for our school every day. They created personalized cards and gift bags for cleaning staff, security guards, food service teams, gardeners, bus drivers, and Copy Center staff. The spirit of the project was to help students express their empathy, gratitude, and develop a deeper understanding of community. This project is one of a few student-driven service learning, initiatives carried out by students in other grades.

Yunnan Middle School Lighting Project

Through the Concordia Fund, our community helped improve learning conditions for 4,385 students at Yanjin County No. 3 Middle School in Yunnan province. The first RMB 50,000 raised during the April 2024 campaign supported the replacement of outdated fluorescent lighting with energy-efficient LED eye-protection lamps in classrooms and teacher offices. This project reflects Concordia’s commitment to extending educational opportunity beyond our campus to create brighter, healthier spaces for students across China and strengthening our tradition of meaningful outreach.

Rittmann Center Redevelopment

The Concordia Fund is helping bring to life a reimagined Rittmann Center, turning the iconic space into a transformative hub for the arts, athletics, and student well-being. This visionary redevelopment includes an eight-lane aquatics center, a 500-seat theater with advanced performance technology, purpose-built music classrooms, and four inspiring art studios. More than upgraded facilities, this project expands what’s possible for every learner, creating spaces where creativity, talent, and confidence can thrive. Set to open in 2027, the new Rittmann Center will shape student experiences for generations.
