This year’s ACAMIS final robotics competition in Guangzhou was a triumph for Concordia International School, showcasing the hard work and dedication of our VEX V5 teams. From the outset, it was evident that each Concordia team had prepared diligently: all five of our VEX V5 squads progressed through the qualifier rounds and secured their spots in the elimination stage.
The excitement reached a crescendo when two Concordia teams went head-to-head in the quarterfinals—a display of our internal depth and talent, and a moment that both thrilled and tugged at the heartstrings. Despite three teams falling in the quarter and semifinal rounds, they demonstrated remarkable unity and resilience. Team The Egoists earned a proud 3rd place finish, showing skill and perseverance to the very end.
Team Tri-Rico earned the prestigious Judges Award, celebrating their collaborative spirit and innovative approach. The excitement peaked when Team Top Gear, in an alliance with an SAS Puxi team, secured a dramatic victory in the finals against another SAS Puxi team partnered with AISG. The best-of-three format heightened the suspense of every match, and Top Gear’s alliance ultimately claimed the tournament championship—a remarkable achievement that placed Concordia at both the number one and number three spots among international schools in China. Throughout the season, Top Gear earned two Excellence Awards, won two first-place tournaments, and consistently ranked among the top skills performers.
The championship-winning team has now earned a coveted spot at the VEX World Championship in Dallas, Texas. Well done to everyone involved!
While we are delighted to celebrate these outstanding results, we remain humbled by the dedication, curiosity, and sportsmanship our students displayed throughout the season. Many of our team members are seniors who have nurtured their STEM talents and team camaraderie over four years at Concordia: Maddy, Tim, Caleb, Joonsoo, Shreyas, Marcus, Simon, Sophie, Kate, Davis, Steve, Jeffrey, Eric, and Doyun. From days and nights spent perfecting code to building and testing robots under tight deadlines, you have demonstrated the values of perseverance, humility, and innovation—embodying the heart of the Concordia spirit. Junior Andrew, Alan, Robert, and Ethan will be leading the way to another bright year,.
To all the coaches, mentors, parents, and staff who supported these students, thank you for fostering an environment where they could learn and grow. And to our remarkable seniors: we will miss you as you embark on new adventures, yet we know that your future is bright and your potential limitless. You have made us proud, not only by your achievements on the field but by the character you have shown off it.
Go Phoenix! Congratulations to every Concordia robotics team on a successful ACAMIS season.
