Students Explore the Future at University Fair

We were delighted to welcome the 11th edition of Concordia's World University Fair to our campus on October 15. It was a day filled with excitement and anticipation, as high school students and parents from across Shanghai joined us for a remarkable chance to discover a world of universities from 15 countries and regions.  

It was a sight to behold—over 800 students and parents engaging in meaningful conversations with university admissions officers!   

University representatives enjoyed the opportunity to return to Concordia’s campus and connect with students and parents from across Shanghai:  

“It was an amazing fair and I was so impressed by the students and parents that I met.” 

“Truly enjoyed my conversations and look forward to my return trip soon.” 

“Thank you so much for having us on your campus, and giving us the opportunity to talk to so many potential students and parents!” 

In addition to students and parents, 40 high school counselors from 19 different schools across Shanghai were in attendance.  

Huge shout out to our Concordia High School Ambassadors who were walking back-and-forth in the rain with umbrellas to guide the university reps to their tables and were a welcoming presence for our families and community! One university rep said it best:  

“The student welcome committee was simply amazing. Their energy and smiles really brightened my visit. Thank you for the warm hospitality as always!”

For our seniors of Class of ’25 who are already submitting early applications, this fair was such a meaningful event, full of insights and connections. They were able to ask questions directly to the University Representatives to support their exciting but difficult choices about their future. We welcomed students from earlier grades as well, encouraged to consider their future and get first-hand information about the universities’ admissions requirements, scholarships, financial aid, academic environment, housing, student life, and other facets of the school.   

Now that the fair is over, it’s time to put those takeaways to good use. Here are some tips from our high school counselors to help students make the most of their post-fair journey:  

  • Take some time to reflect on the information and notes you collected at the fair. 

  • Send a thank-you email to the reps you connected with and ask any follow-up questions you might have. Keep in mind that many may still be traveling this month. 

  • Start planning in-person campus visits for your favorite schools. 

  • Continue your research! And reach out to your high school counselor anytime – they would love to partner with you in this.
