MAP Assessments Next Week in Middle School
MAP assessments are just around the corner! Concordia will be administering these to grades 6-8 on August 27th, 28th, and 29th. For those who are new to MAP (Measures of Academic Progress™), this is an assessment created by the Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) that provides another piece of data about your child’s achievement in the areas of Reading, Language Usage, and Math.
This assessment helps teachers have another data point to inform their planning of instruction and assessment in the classroom. MAP is an adaptive assessment, which means that if your child answers a question correctly, the next question will be more challenging, and if your child answers a question incorrectly, the next question will be easier. This helps to find the best point to begin instruction on a variety of topics.
After the Elementary School (ES) completes its MAP assessments in October, all ES and MS students will receive their scores.
