Model United Nations Conference Review

This weekend, the Model United Nations ECA participated in another successful conference at Shanghai American School, Puxi. This event was especially exciting, with a largely new group of members taking part in nuanced committees focused on historic events and complex Middle Eastern issues.

Over the three-day event, students delivered speeches, practiced parliamentary procedure, debated, and collaborated with like-minded and opposing delegates from across China. MUN tends to attract students who are optimistic about creating positive change—using diplomacy, empathy, and understanding to achieve their goal of passing complex and nuanced resolutions full of geopolitical twists and turns. This event was no different. Each student spent weeks in preparation to give their very best. We are incredibly proud of their hard work.

Two of our students, Sparrow Yeh (Best Delegate) and Derek Du (Outstanding Delegate), were recognized for their outstanding knowledge, communication, and engagement.

A large group of young people, mostly students, are gathered together in what appears to be a school or university setting, with some of them posing and smiling for the camera.

We are extremely proud of the team and look forward to our next assembly.
