Starting September Strong
Power of Kindness
At the heart of our Early Childhood program is a focus on nurturing the social-emotional well-being of our students, therefore we are focused on the virtue of kindness for the month of September. Research shows that teaching kindness in early childhood not only helps children develop empathy and social skills but also contributes to their overall emotional well-being. According to a study by Schonert-Reichl et al. (2012), children who are taught prosocial behaviors, like kindness, show increased happiness, improved peer relationships, and greater resilience in the face of challenges.
In our classrooms, we integrate kindness into daily routines and interactions, encouraging children to share, help one another, and express gratitude. This month we will also use different read aloud opportunities and lesson activities to engage in practicing and develop a deeper understanding of kindness. We are committed to developing students social-emotional growth and well-being.

A Book in Hand: Learning through Literature
Last week students enjoyed exploring the Satellite library. Preschool and prekindergarten participated in an interactive read aloud with the Assistant principal showcasing a love for literacy. Please check out the photos below.
Parents can also join in by reading to their child. Check out some books from the ES/EC library by reviewing the times below. Please be reminded that these hours are for the library only and the campus hours for any other locations should be followed. CampusAccess2024b.jpg CampusAccess2024.jpg

We are excited to invite all our Early Childhood families to join us in celebrating International Dot Day on September 13! This special day, inspired by the beloved book "The Dot" by Peter H. Reynolds, is all about encouraging creativity, self-expression, and confidence in our young learners. To make the day even more fun, we invite your child to come to school dressed in dots—whether it’s polka-dotted shirts, spotted socks, or a creative ensemble full of dots!
