Student Council Updates

Two weeks ago, we here at MS STUCO had our Fall social. It was truly a mixture of incredible events. From fun games to a talent show, to different unique stations to experience, it was truly the break we needed from school to socialize and hang out with friends. Fortunately, we also had the incredible honor to host this event, which ended up being extremely fun and engaging for our entire community. Now, we will dive into the different aspects of our MS Social. 

Talent show 

The first amazing event we planned as part of the MS Social was the talent show. We wanted to showcase the many unique abilities possessed by our students, and all the performers truly shined in their respective performances! From beautiful singing, creative dances, and amazing showcases of instruments, we would like to thank all our performers for doing an excellent job. 

MS Games 

It’s not an MS Social without games! We first played a few rounds of tug of war, to kick start the fun. Different grades had different amounts of people to make it fair, for example, grade 8 had 8 contestants, while grade 6 had 10. After a few tense games, grade 8 emerged victorious, with grade 6 and 7 following close behind. We also included musical chairs, which was another fun activity that showed Concordia spirit. Interestingly, we also included teachers in the event, to hype things up before our activities. This brought a new wave of excitement and cheer from the middle schoolers.  

MS Social 

After our fun assembly, it was off to our social. There were different kinds of rooms, including karaoke, board games, trivia, a movie, and reading/crafting rooms. The students enjoyed rotating from different rooms with their friends to enjoy different activities. Through these activities, students were offered a break from the daily academics they were used to, showing that at Concordia, we aren’t just students and staff; we are family. We witnessed passionate singing as the students discovered their voices in karaoke, intense rounds of jeopardy, tranquil craft sessions, and engaging board games sessions.    

Hopes for Spring Social  

We hope to achieve the same effect for the spring social as well. We are planning to change some activities according to public requests, to make it more appealing for students. We plan new fun engaging games and brand-new station ideas! Stay tuned for the news! 

Conclusion

Overall, this social was a great experience for everyone. We all had a blast organizing it, and from what we’ve heard, everyone is anticipating the next one. We can’t wait for the next social event to take place! Thank you.
