September has arrived and the students and teachers have settled into a routine now. Our MS Trips will be here before we know it. We hope all the parents enjoyed our Back to School Night last week. Please remember to share your feedback, so we can continue to improve the experience for you.

Virtue of the Month - Love

Last year, Concordia exchanged the previous Virtues of the Month with the Fruit of the Spirit from Galatians. While all the virtues are important, linking our Virtue of the Month to the Fruit of the Spirit seemed natural. Starting our year with our Word of the Year, it helps the community to have the lens we should use for the new school year. After celebrating the Word of the Year in August, we start with what has been called “the greatest commandment”, which is Love. This commandment is mentioned approximately 180 times in the New Testament.

At Concordia, this is expressed daily in our classrooms and around campus. “Love your neighbor as yourself” is taught and shared regularly on campus. We constantly strive to not only teach the students the importance of love and how to love everyone in the world, but also that they feel they are loved and supported at school. They are the gifts that you have entrusted to us and should feel that every day.

Please take some time to have a conversation with your child about what “Love your neighbor as yourself” means to them and how important love is in the world.

MS StuCo Upcoming Elections

Being Executive members of MS StuCo this school year has been incredibly meaningful to us. The four of us—President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer—carry a significant sense of responsibility. We hold numerous brief meetings each week to plan for regular MS assemblies, monthly bell events, and the upcoming MS Social in October on top of our regular meetings. This week, we met again many times to prep for the special speech assembly for Grade Level Representative candidates. Our efforts are a collaborative endeavor with MS teachers, administrators, and the student body, all aimed at fostering a strong sense of belonging throughout this school year! We are thrilled and would like to extend a big round of applause to the Grade Level Rep candidates who have chosen to step up and lead alongside us! All the best of luck everyone! Great job!
