This week, we celebrate a successful Parent-Teacher Conferences and an inspiring virtual author visit with Victoria Jamieson! Our Grade 1 students are also exploring patterns in space as they build their curiosity and understanding of the world around them. We are excitedly counting down the days to our upcoming on-campus Author's Visit (Emily Gravett) and all the learning and creativity it will bring. Be sure to check out the upcoming events and join us for the fun - Enjoy!

We Did It Parents - You Belong!

ES Online Author's Visit -

On Thursday, October 22, our Grade 5 students enjoyed a virtual visit with Victoria Jamieson, the Newbery Honor-winning author of Roller Girl and co-author, with Omar Mohamed, of When Stars Are Scattered, a National Book Award finalist. Students learned more about Omar and his brother’s experiences in the Dadaab Refugee Camp in Kenya, which inspired the graphic novel. They also had the opportunity to ask questions about Victoria’s writing process, the inspiration behind the book, and the refugee experience. It was an incredible opportunity for our students to connect with an author, deepen their understanding of a powerful story, and see how graphic novels can bring real-life experiences to readers!

G1 Explores Patterns in Space

Grade 1 students are exploring patterns in the sky as they learn about the Sun, Moon, stars, and the changing seasons. Through observations and hands-on investigations, they are discovering how these natural patterns help us understand day and night, weather, and seasonal changes. We are excited to see their curiosity and wonder grow as young scientists!
