New EC and ES Playgrounds Coming This Summer
Concordia Families,
We are excited to share that this summer Concordia will begin construction on brand-new outdoor learning and playground spaces for both our Early Childhood and Elementary students. These new playgrounds will be located between the Intermediate and Lower buildings adjacent to the track in the area of the current tennis courts. The new space will include separate playground areas designed specifically for EC and ES students.
This project will officially begin on Saturday, June 6, as the construction company starts setting up scaffolding, fencing, and safety barriers on the current tennis courts. Once this work begins, the entire tennis court area will be completely closed to all students, families, staff, and visitors for safety reasons.
While the majority of construction will take place during the summer, there may be some minor operational adjustments during the final week of school, particularly around the areas near the tennis courts and track.
Any significant updates will be communicated directly through the divisions as needed.
Information regarding how this transition may affect Activities & Sport programming was shared during the Parent Connect meeting on May 20. Families who were unable to attend or who would like additional information are welcome to contact the Activities & Sport office directly with questions.
We are genuinely excited about what these new spaces will mean for our students. Outdoor learning and play environments are an important part of how children grow, discover, collaborate, and connect with one another, and we believe these playgrounds will be a wonderful addition to campus life at Concordia.
Thank you for your continued partnership, flexibility, and support as we continue improving our campus for students.
