Concordia Shanghai

PSO News Update - June 9

1. THANK YOU, Concordia Community!

The PSO would like to send our gratitude to the amazing Concordia families throughout the year of support.

Also, a big thank you to all parent volunteers who made this year’s PSO activities possible.

From welcoming new families to appreciation lunch for teachers, to the Christmas bazaar and various division-led events, your help and support was much appreciated.

We hope you have felt connected to the community despite the ups and downs of this year.

We are always looking for volunteers to help enhance the student experience and encourage school spirit and community.

We look forward to seeing more volunteers and helping hands next year!

2. Congratulations to Concordia Class of 2022!

Class of 2022 graduates were blessed with a wonderful send-off!

Lifetime memories of final high school sharing were sealed among longtime classmates, beloved faculty and family.

Final blessings and fellowship were shared at The Press; blue skies and Shanghai memories at the Bund; caps and gowns and processions at Concordia.

Heartfelt thanks to the loving G12 parents, PSO volunteers and generous parent sponsorship at The Press, for lifting up the Class of 2022 graduates.

From the CISS Alma Mater: “Blazing Phoenix soar, Xie He, we adore”.

Go forth, forever Phoenix!

3. Special Farewell for MS Principal, Dr. Andy Aldrich

Some of MS parents made a special Farewell for our great Concordia MS Principal. (← click to check out the video. Password: 8hoK)

Even though we have Home-based Learning, Middle School families still found a way to connect and work on a farewell project for Dr Andy Aldrich, our MS Principal who is ending his term this school year.

These are special times, but it does not hinder us from thanking Dr. Aldrich for his contributions to our MS program and our Concordia community.

So, families contributed creative videos and compiled them into a farewell video, then some MS families presented Dr. Aldrich with the surprise!

We wish Dr. Aldrich all the best!

4. Thanksgiving from MS Grade 8 parents and students

As Grade 8 moves on to the High School, Selina Ren in Grade 8, and her mother, Sandra led in the design of this beautiful Concordia bag for students moving on to the next phase of their school journey and for all MS departing teachers and staff.

The design includes our Concordia building and a Phoenix with names of all G8 students.

May you soar on the wings of the Concordia Phoenix wherever you go!

5. Middle School End of Year Party

Even in the mist of Home-Based Learning, the MS PSO and grade teachers came together to develop the End of Year parties for each grade, ranging from online bingo, Kahoot, skits, dance and charades, as well as special graduation gifts and get together for our G8 graduating class.

Nothing can stop the MS spirit from rising high!

6. The Third Cooking Class by Patricia, called <JUST WHITE>

Our talented PSO member, Patricia held the third cooking class, <JUST WHITE> and taught many of parents how to make a bread!

Over the lock down, this recipe was one of the high demands from many of us.

Enjoy the pictures of what had been made during the class. All looking delicious!!
