High School Service and Small Business Active Learning Project
PSO would like to invite our HS clubs or any interested students to organize and to run an activity for the PSO Concordia Christmas Celebration. This is a great opportunity for our high schoolers to learn and to first-hand the fundamentals of setting-up and running a small business. HS Clubs or student groups can fundraise for their chosen charities, service projects or even club fund while at the same time, support the Concordia Community and demonstrate role-modeling for younger students. No booth fee will be charged and students’ commitment is crucial for the success of the event. Therefore interested students should put efforts to create a successful game or activity for the school community. They also needs to have good time management.
Timeline and Contact
Interested students should sign up on or before Oct 25th, 2020 then submit the activity proposal by Oct 29th. Confirmation of booth will be informed on Oct 31st. For sign up and details, feel free to contact Carrie Hau, email: firstname.lastname@example.org(sign up by this email only) WeChat: Carrie1412, Tel:13818824656.
Volunteer Service Opportunities
Besides organizing activities, HS students can also be volunteers to this event to earn service hours. Interested students are encouraged to mark the event on your calendar. Volunteers sign up will be open about 2 weeks before the event.
More Christmas activities to come, follow our PSO News on Focus weekly!
Middle School Activities
1)G5 Mums Day Out on 28 Sep
What a better way for mums to recharge for the week long October holidays than a “girls” date! Grade 5 mum Qiongzi, an independent fashion designer, invited fellow mums to her studio for a day of Chinese cheongsam try-on and relaxation just before the holidays.
Trying on her latest Fall and Winter collection with professional photo shoot over high tea was a precious treat for us who worked so hard through last semester’s HBL and throughout this difficult time. Thank you Qiongzi for the opportunity to catch up and relax!
2)Middle School Launches Zumba Sessions
At PSO Middle School’s request, MSTeacher Mr David Lyon invited some MS parents to join his Zumba Sessions on 17 Oct at 9am in the park opposite Biyun Decathlon. The session was terrific with almost 30 teachers and parents having great fun working out together. From this weekend onwards, Middle School parents will continue to partner Mr Lyon for more Zumba sessions . Go Zumba Go!!
