Summer 2021 was filled with great opportunities for Concordia students. Gifts to the Concordia Fund made three internships and service learning experiences possible.
Forty HS students participated in month-long internships at United Family Health, VMWare (IT), Lyvgen Biopharma (research), Hadrian Capital (investments), Denton Law (law), CWEF (humanitarian NGO), and Garuna Foundation (education). They coded, researched legislation, produced videos, shadowed doctors, created a book, expanded a website, studied the market, and developed monoclonal antibodies—just to touch on a few areas.
Another group of HS students traveled to Guizhou to serve the Miao people. Concordia students led lessons to teach English, healthy lifestyles, positive morals, strong character. They built desks for the local school, helped with farming in the mountain villages, and even harvested fish.
Seventh and eighth grade MS students had the opportunity to participate in five service trips to help out at the WILL Foundation on Chongming Island. Students cleaned, weeded, harvested and built great relationships with the children residents.
