Concordia Shanghai

Student Summer Travel Protocol

Dear Parents,

As we draw towards the end of the school year, many of you look forward to rest and rejuvenation as we enrich ourselves during the summer break. We would like to remind you to practice health behavior like wearing a mask, washing your hands regularly, and social distancing when appropriate.

Per recent Shanghai municipal government’s requirement of epidemic prevention and control, people are urged not to travel out of Shanghai or out of China if it's not essential. If your family plans to travel within China or overseas during the summer break for essential reasons, please note:

Domestic Summer Travel Protocol

  • Avoid cities/districts with medium/high-risk areas and travel only to low-risk areas. Click here Concordia Covid-19 Website for the latest details. As of today, there are 34 medium risk areas and high-risk areas in China. The entire Shanghai city is still deemed as a “key area” by most other cities. Before traveling, we encourage you to check with your destination first to learn the local prevention and/or quarantine rules and let your destination community know your itinerary in advance.

  • Plan to:

  1. conduct a 14-day self-health observation in Shanghai before returning to campus.
  2. record your travel history, including each place visited.

International Summer Travel Protocol

  • 14+7+3: 14 days designated hotel quarantine plus 7 days home quarantine plus 3 days community health observation.

  • During the 3 days, the students cannot:

    • access school campus
    • have contact with any other students or employees from the school.

Emergency Data Report

During summer break, Concordia is still requested to report data. Please report to your divisional office in case of any emergency like a testing abnormality happens to you or your cohabitants.

These practices are based on the speed of the spread of the outbreak, our understanding of current government guidance, and the necessity to protect the community. As a school, we must maintain a higher duty of care.

Student Vaccination

Currently the two-shot Chinese vaccine is available to both foreigners and local citizens above 3 years old. Parents can login to the “Healthcare Cloud” APP to register for your students. Once vaccinated, please send your student’s vaccination record to

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we try our best to protect the health and well-being of our students and community.

Have a great summer break!
