Arts, Crafts, and MORE!

Do you like free time to create, imagine or build? Do you like to use your imagination and your hands?  If so – please come create with us! You will have time to free draw, paint, build, design, and play with a variety of materials – some time for creative FREEDOM, FUN and PLAY! We welcome any boys or girls, 3 or 4th grade, to join our encouraging group of friends.

How to…

Have you ever wondered ‘how to’ draw animals, make milkshakes or create the perfect origami? Have you ever wondered ‘how to’ create the perfect pop-up card or make the best paper airplane? In this CCA we will use the ‘how to’ books from our amazing library to help us invent new things, learn new skills and empower ourselves so we can be more creative!

Board Game Fun

Put technology aside and come enjoy a variety of board games! Have fun playing games that challenge your problem solving and collaborating skills. All you need to bring is good sportsmanship and a positive attitude. And remember, it’s not about winning but about having FUN!!

Chess

Do you know why the pawn is an optimist? A: It is always looking forward. Learn the basics of chess such as piece movement, openings, and how to checkmate your opponent. Everyone can improve his or her game through simple lessons and actual chess matches. Best suited for basic, first time learners.

Would you like to design a home or a zoo? How tall of a structure can you build? How strong is your building? Use a variety of construction toys to bring your ideas to life. Create buildings, bridges, crazy creatures, cars, cities, and more!

Construction  Zone

Come and try out your construction skills!  You will get a chance to build your own structures using lots of different materials like blocks, Zoobs, Legos, Magnatiles and much more! Come use your imagination and lots of math and science skills to build, create, and share!

Rebuild the World with LEGO Bricks

Maybe you want to rebuild something that could improve everyday life for you or others, or a replica of a real-life building, thing, animal or artwork. Maybe something random, fun or completely useless! Just use whatever LEGO bricks you have and start building!

Knitting

Have you always wanted to learn to knit? Now is your chance! Learn every step of the knitting process. Get ready to make a simple scarf.

Intro to Hand Sewing

Hand sewing is great for kids on road trips and long airplane rides, Come and learn some basic stitches and techniques. We will focus on running stitch, backstitch and blanket stitch. Students will bring home their creation each session.

Origami

Origami is an excellent way to entertain children at the same time as stimulating their imagination. Making simple origami figures following a few easy steps will help children to discover the wonderfully fun world of paper art.

Originating from Japan, origami is based around a combination of techniques used to create figures by folding paper without the need of cutting pieces away or by using any glue. As well as being entertaining, children will gain a series of benefits from stimulating their creativity, improving their hand-eye coordination skills and they will have a better understanding of mathematics by the use of geometry.

Dance and Karaoke Team!

Students will have a chance to create their own dance routines and have fun singing along to some of their favorite music!  They will also play some fun dance games!  Through these activities, students will develop their English reading and speaking skills.

Calendar Making

Do you like to draw and color? Enjoy using your creative skills while also making a personalized calendar to help you remember important dates! Have fun thinking of all the special events you celebrate with your families and friends as you use colorful construction paper, craft supplies, stickers, sequins, and more to design your calendar. You may even decide to use your calendar as a gift!
