Book Week Activity: Book Mark Competition
The concept of using a book mark, to hold your place in a book, is taught early in a student's school experience. Not only are students taught to use a book mark inside their book but also to hold the location of a book on the shelf in the library.
A fun activity during Book Week was to have a book mark making competition. Each child had the opportunity to be creative and design their own book mark.

Beginning with our youngest learners, children experience the joy books can bring. Book marks are a tool that helps the library stay organized so children can find books and book marks teach children to hold their spot in a book without damaging the pages. A rainy day activity for your child would be to make a book mark for each member of the family.
