Yes, that’s right! Two weeks ago, our swim team resumed training at the Ambassy Club 25m pool in the mornings before school. It has been a feel-good time for our students and coaches as they return to doing what they love most, swimming and coaching swimming. To top off a great month for our team, we will line up next week against 23 other international schools for the first ever Shanghai Swim League (SSL) Virtual Meet. How this works is each school will run the swim meet at a time that is convenient for them and then submit the times their students swum for each event to the host school (SAS Puxi). All schools’ times are then collated and results are published and shared to all SSL schools. Our team will run the swim meet during morning training next week. If you know a student in the team, wish them well!
Lastly, Season 2 High School swimming commenced last week and I am very proud to announce that we have 20 students on the team this year, our largest team in my 4 years at Concordia. A larger team with several new faces has brought a newfound energy and dynamic to our training sessions. It’s going to be a great season!
Yours in swimming and water safety,
