Our campus belongs to the whole family and it shows in the variety of events scheduled that bring the community together. While most events are put on for Concordia families, others like the four major drama performances and Concordia Presents speakers staged in the Rittmann Center Theater, are open to the broader Shanghai community. Check the calendar now for these events and make plans to attend—all of them!
Concordia is an intellectual hub of activity in Shanghai attracting bestselling authors and leading experts. These events bring the community together through lectures and presentations filled with thought-provoking information and Concordia’s students, parents, faculty and guests to our campus all benefit.
The annual gala and auction is a fundraising event for educational program enhancements at Concordia and to support the school’s student-founded charity, Youth Empowering Progress. Dedicated parents collaborate, plan and work many hours to throw Concordia’s party of the year where the entire community comes together to celebrate and support the school.
The PSO Back-to-School Bash is a great time to catch up with old friends after a long summer away and make new friends for the year ahead while learning about local offerings from Scouts and expat support to healthcare services and local restaurants. The event is organized and run by parent volunteers with more than 50 vendors coming to showcase their services and products available right in Shanghai.
The PSO International Festival is an awesome event held during the school day to celebrate and showcase the many cultures at Concordia. Parent volunteers from each of the international groups represented in the school plan and create exciting booths that showcase their cultures through food, music, activities, pictures and more that are visited by students and parents alike.
The annual PSO Christmas Bazaar is the premier Christmas shopping experience in all of Shanghai, attracting avid shoppers who come far and wide, year after year for the experience. Concordia’s facilities are transformed into a holiday shopping paradise where the selection is vast and unique. The products showcase the high-quality talent of over 175 local and expat vendors and the only shortages on this day are cash in the ATM’s and arms to carry the purchases!
Each spring, we are proud to host the World University Fair, which invites around 150 higher education institutions to our campus. This is an excellent opportunity to gather information about various universities from around the world and ask questions that will determine how well they match your educational goals. The fair is open to non-Concordia students, and no registration is required.
For the Pink Out event, the school partners with the local non-profit More Than Aware, which supports cancer awareness and promotes the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The event takes place in October in conjunction with the APAC Volleyball Tournament. Concordia athletes compete wearing pink uniforms in solidarity of breast cancer awareness.
The Mini-Maker Faire is a wildly popular community event that attracts hobbyists, tinkerers, artisans, craftspeople to showcase their accomplishments with an appreciative audience. The event also features workshops, music and performances, talks and presentations from both amateur and professional makers.
