Grade 8 Students Study Chemical Reactions

After returning to campus this week, the Grade 8 students took their learning of chemical reactions into the labs.

Students mixed hydrogen peroxide (liquid) of different concentrations (5%, 10%, 15%) with potassium iodide (powder) to observe the reaction taking place (color change, gas, bubbles, temperature, etc.) to see which concentration reacts the most.

Students will then graph the data and write a claim, evidence, and reasoning as they discover the "science" behind the reaction!
