“When you take risks you learn that there will be times when you succeed and there will be times when you fail, and both are equally important.”
We are thrilled to have Carre Penland be part of the elementary teaching team this year. Originally from Georgia in the United States, Carre moved to North Carolina where she pursued and completed her teaching degree. She has experience teaching in the United States, South Korea, and most recently, Penang, Malaysia.
What she really loves about teaching is to see a child’s sense of wonder and eagerness to learn. Their energy, joy, and natural curiosity about the world around them and how things work, motivates and encourages her as an educator. Carre also enjoys teaching because she learns so much from her students while at the same time instilling an attitude of becoming lifelong learners. Not only are the students exploring, learning, discovering, reflecting, and developing; but she is also learning. They are learning together!
