» Math Resources
Planet Turtle (www.planetturtle.com) is available for grades K-2. It is an online instructional system that uses the same kind of technology that attracts children to video games. It is imaginative, fast-paced, with engaging graphics and social interaction. At the same time, the math skills are aligned with the curriculum standards and to each teacher’s program. Students also gain instant feedback from their performance and advance onto higher levels as each challenge is met.
Mathletics (www.mathletics.com) is America’s #1 math website. Over 3.5 million students use it worldwide. Students enjoy math while improving their skills. It keeps track of students’ progress and responds to their strengths and weaknesses. It is a wonderful supplement to our mathematics curriculum here at Concordia for grades 3-4. Encourage your children to log on to sharpen their math skills at home!
» YEP Water Project—more than 30% paid
People in a village in Xundian County, Yunnan have to walk more than 3 KM each way to get their daily water. Through the generous donations and sponsorships of the Fun Run, more than 1 km. of pipe has been paid! Donations to date total 34,177 RMB. The total water system will cost 90,000 RMB.
A group of Concordia HS students will help to install the water system in late September. The partnership of the ES community is deeply appreciated!
Donated funds can be turned in to class teachers or submitted to the ES Office. Thank you for helping to make a difference!
