Moving to Shanghai
Weather

  • Shanghai has four distinct seasons – the warm spring and the cool autumn are comfortable for travel, while the hot rainy summer and the overcast cold winter are far less pleasant. Shanghai’s location at the estuary of the Yangzi River to the East China Sea makes it so wet that it rains for about one third of the year.
  • It is hot and humid from May till October. July and August are the hottest months of the year with temperatures soaring above 35 C (95 F). So be prepared for a tropical climate in those months.
  • A good rain jacket can be your best friend during the rainy months June – August.
