Spanish is offered as a Modern Language choice starting in Grade 8. Students who begin at Level 1 in Grade 8 will have the option to achieve the Spanish AP (Advanced Placement) level.
Spanish 1
Spanish 1 is a full year course that introduces students to the Spanish language and culture. Spanish 1 is a high school level course regardless of whether it is taught in Middle school or High School. Students learn how to communicate in the present tense and are introduced to the past tense. The major components of this course are reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar and culture.
