Physical Education Class
The high school physical education curriculum continues to build upon those skills emphasized at the middle school level. Students have opportunity to learn and develop in a variety of competitive, game, and cooperative situations. There is an emphasis placed on the development of personal and social responsibility as well as being active participants in all activities. Students should acquire a basic competency in each area of emphasis, including the acquisition and demonstration of key skills and the knowledge of basic rules where applicable. Evaluation includes daily participation, individual skill development, and knowledge exams. Duration: 1 Semester; Required: Yes; Credit: 0.50; Prerequisite: None
Health I: Grade 9 (Health is integrated into P.E. in Grades 10-12)
Students study Health and Wellness, Health and Your Body, Alcohol & Drugs, Diseases and Disorders, Adolescence/Adulthood/Family Life, Reproductive Health and a number of other pertinent topics. Duration: 1 Semester; Required: Yes; Credit: 0.50; Prerequisite: None
