Children learn through play! At Concordia’s Preschool, we purposely use what kids do best to foster our youngest learner’s self-confidence and encourage exploration of the the world around them. At our full-day program, academics, motor skills and social/emotional skills all play equally important roles in the holistic development of each student.
All children have great creativity and need opportunities to stretch the boundaries of their imaginations. They are curious by nature and learn best by experience. Experimentation, discovery and expression are all part of the learning process at Concordia’s Preschool and our children move between various activity centers to engage in that process. For example, children have a special reading area, can be creative in the painting area, build with blocks and puzzles, or learn about different countries via costumes in the dramatic play area.
Our ultimate goal is to foster a love for life-long learning in each of our students; as such, our Preschool teachers purposefully create positive learning experiences that will stick with our youngest learners throughout the rest of their academic careers.
We highly encourage the involvement of our parents in the Preschool classroom. Quite often, a parent can be found cooking, reading or teaching a special class to the children. This type of commitment on the part of the families promotes open communication between the families and the teachers and is essential to each child’s holistic development.
