At Concordia, we view every student as a gift from God, entrusted to us by parents, and are committed in Christian stewardship to educate students holistically in a nurturing environment that includes comprehensive and challenging opportunities in academics, creative arts, spirituality, athletics, co-curricular activities and service.
We invite you to join a team which can best be described as reflective, creative and, above all, student focused. Teachers are encouraged to convey written curriculum in constructive and innovative ways in order to both challenge and engage students holistically in the learning process. During a recent faculty survey, 96% of our teachers answered that they either Agreed or Strongly Agreed with the statement that their position at the school was, “meaningful” and 90% of respondents agreed that they were able to “provide input regarding the content of (their) job.” Empowered teachers communicate a passion for learning and at Concordia we believe that a passion for learning is essential for achieving life success.
Concordia International School Shanghai provides a Preschool to Grade 12 program and is located in one of China’s most vibrant and exciting cities. The school has an overall enrollment of over 1250 students. As a mission driven, not-for-profit school located in a suburban, “green” neighborhood of the Pudong area in Shanghai, Concordia is regularly acknowledged for its thriving community informed by the school’s Christian values. The majority of our community —more than 62% of students and nearly all of the overseas-hired staff—live within three kilometers of the school. The result is that the campus serves as a hub for students, teachers and families. Our teachers enjoy working on an award-winning campus, where state-of-the-art facilities and fully integrated technology come together in a secure setting, allowing teachers to focus on what they do best—teach!
“Academic rigor? –Absolutely! Excellence? –Definitely! Heart and soul? –Every day! With tech coaches and librarians for info lit, STEM and literacy coaches helping with the rest, not to mention open access to professional development that I can use for things that make sense for me, it’s just been a PHENOMENAL first year.” –Nicole Ashwin, ES Teacher
